This cake was made for Aunt Denise, a tennis fanatic who happens to celebrate her birthday during Wimbledon.
Traditionally, she has a chocolate cake. I didn't want to break with that so I used her favorite recipe and made two 8-inch rounds, frosted with her favorite frosting (Gasp! Not my usual frosting!) but then I got a little crazy on top. I actually used a sort of stencil to get the circles right and was pleased at how much that cut down on my decorating time.
