Moo Cow

Did you know the number one search phrase that brings folks to my site is "cow cake" from any search engine? It's true! And despite the fact that I call myself the Cake Cow, I've never made an actual cow cake...until now!

Ain't she sweet? I used the Stand-up Cuddly Bear pan and then carved down the ears for the horns, trimming off the face to make room for the cow's nose. The ears are made from black fondant and attached with toothpicks. I think I'll add more black spots on the next one and change the eyes. Poor thing looks a little freaked out.

Inside, she's dark chocolate cake with my signature buttercream frosting.

sarah - do you want a cake that actually looks like a cow or would you be happy with a cow pattern? There are several really great ideas on taking a white cake and adding black patches for a cow look. If you want the whole cow but can't manage it, maybe topping the cake with a cow figurine or small stuffed animal would be enough? Email me if you want to discuss more details!

katie.r - The nose is all frosting, just let it set up between each layer or the whole thing could pull off. Also, use a #233 tip for the fur with a medium consistency frosting. Email me if you have any more questions! Good luck!
